Root Crop Engineering Potato Technology

Abstract:

There are remarkable differences in mechanization of growing potatoes around the world. Although the largest growth rates of production are in Asia, the used technology is rather simple. Therefore, this report focuses on current technical developments in Europe and North America, where productivity- and efficiency-requirements are of particular importance to the farmer. The growing demands have lead to new developments along the chain from planting to storage, which will be presented by selected examples.
