Livestock Engineering Machinery and Techniques for Pig Husbandry

Research in pig husbandry focuses on animal welfare. Therefore, new housing systems are necessary. New technical developments in Precision Livestock Farming apply to animal and health monitoring; RFID-technology, sensors, actuators and algorithms are to be improved here. Research on environmental impacts of pig housing has been neglected in the recent years, but will gain importance again very soon.
