Crop Harvesting
Mowing and Treatment of Hay
Abstract:
For the first time in four years, the price of milk is not decreasing. In the 2016/2017 financial year, the milk price has risen by about 75%. This positive trend was also directly reflected in the sales figures of the forage and hay tools manufacturers. Along with this the international manufacturers were able to present their new products at the Agritechnica. The developments were to increase the power and improve the quality of forage with mechanical and digital solutions. During the year, the Lely Group decided to focus on barn automation and sold their forage harvesting business to the AGCO Group. Research topics were presented at the international AgEng on the topic of knife sharpness measurement and at ASABE's Safety & Health Community on the topic of material entanglement by PTO knuckle.
