Tractors Agricultural Tractor Development

Abstract:

In 2017, sales of German tractor manufacturers increased after a depression in the previous years to 3,66 Mrd. € (2016: 3,32 Mrd. €). Total registrations in Germany increased also; however, are favoured by some special effects. Tractor developments are again mainly driven by EU emission regulations and also by the new EU "Mother Regulation" 167/2013, which is important for homologations. More tractors are offered with tracks. Mid class models profit increasingly from technologies and comfort elements of larger tractors, for example with automated partial power shift gear boxes up to 8 speeds, touch-screen terminals, variable steering ratios or driver-assist systems. Many companies improved their chassis design achieving higher payloads. Electric drives with limited power are gaining further importance.
