Livestock Engineering Machinery and Techniques in Poultry Husbandry

Authors:
Abstract:
This article gives an overview of the current basic conditions in the poultry husbandry. New alternative housing systems are necessary in laying hen husbandry, but also in fattening poultry. The Rondeel stable is a new housing concept for laying hens that was initiated by the Dutch Agricultural Ministry and developed by the company Rondeel BV for practical application. The Rondeel concept aims to address topics like animal welfare, environmental care and consumer demand. The "Optimum Vita" represents an innovative housing system specifically for broilers that combines aspects of animal welfare, health and sustainability. The broilers hatch out in this system in the stable and remain within the same location, so that optimum conditions for the complete fattening period are given.
