Tractors Agricultural Tractor Development

Abstract:
The world wide tractor sales increased in 2012 to about 40 billion € with growth also in Germany. Technology impacts are mainly coming from Western Europe, for volumes (with increasing exports) mainly from India and China. The development for the premium segment is mainly driven by the emission regulations EU 4 / US Tier 4 final, but also by further automation and improved fuel economy. Both, the power density and the maximum rated engine power are still increasing. Many new components have been developed, mostly with electronic control for integration ability for automatic system management (tractor, tractor-implement-management TIM). High investment costs of the key components drive the trend to further improved modular systems. Electrification is still in an early stage.
