Machinery and Technique in Poultry Husbandry
Abstract:
Current priority topics in research on poultry housing are still the waiver of beak treatment of laying hens and fattening turkeys as well as the optimization of husbandry systems with a focus on animal health. However, the improvement of animal welfare for poultry requires in-creasingly innovative technology in the field of loading, transport, stunning and slaughter. In this article, two innovations (Q - Perch to control the poultry red mite, ATLAS - live bird han-dling system) are presented.
