Farmer had to deal with economic challenges because of an ongoing low level of prices for agricultural products. Especially pig and dairy farmers was challenged to secure the ability to pay because of the two years ongoing low price level for agricultural products. To reach this, farmers put on hold farm investments. Furthermore, the critical discussion about farming sys-tems in Germany leads to unsecure economic conditions. However, innovations in agricultural technology have high importance for farmers. Especially innovations in efficient use of manure and bettering of animal welfare are in focus.
