The declining trend of soled mower-, tedder- and swather-units is still continuing. The price of milk per kilogram and the correlating sold units fell further. In the product area of mowers, the manufacturers presented solutions in order to increase productivity, operational safety and several optimizations in drivetrains. In the product area of tedders and swathers, manufacturers are expending their portfolio by larger working width or optimizations concerning work quality. Research on process simulation and fatigue life assessment as well as load and worktime measurements on swathes was publicized. Furthermore, a study on the effect of rainfall on switchgrass and corn stover was carried out.
