Cultivation Technology
Tillage
Abstract:
Agriculture remains broad in public and political discussion. As part of the Green Deal of the European Union, the use of pesticides should be reduced, the use of fertilizers should become more efficient and the emission of soil-bound CO2 should be avoided [1]. In this context, tillage plays a central role. Erosion reduction, mechanical weed control and intertillage management are development goals for tillage technology. In addition to the exact and ultra-flat tillage, new machine concepts resulted by process-combination are a trend. In parallel, the possibilities for automatic settings and for actively influencing process results are in discussion. The prototyping of highly automated and autonomous machines for agricultural applications is continuing. Currently, the focus is on mechanical weed control, although the range of applications is continuously being extended to other areas, such as sowing and tillage.
