Digitalization and Connectivity – Agri-Food System in digital transformation
Abstract:
The year 2020 was marked by the ongoing Corona pandemic. In many ways, this has given a boost to the digital transformation of the agri-food system. The developments of previous years in the areas of integrated telematics, producer portals, remote sensing by drones and satellites, farm management systems and cross-manufacturer data exchange are being significantly accelerated. Developments around the practical use of AI technologies and the connection of agriculture to GAIA-X, the European ecosystem for data and services, have gained in importance in the past year. The first demonstrators for 5G applications were launched, as was the idea of a German data platform for agriculture.
