Machinery and Techniques for Cattle Husbandry
Abstract:
Digitalization continues to be a megatrend in dairy farming. For the farms, this means automation, sensor technology and data management. In terms of automation, there is now a wide range of products for milking, feeding and cleaning technology, and other areas are following suit. In the area of sensor technology, there is a large number of different systems that have to establish themselves in the market. Data management is still problematic in dairy farming. There are still too few offers, especially across system and company boundaries. However, the availability of data is crucial for the use of AI approaches. Emission-reducing technology is currently also a development focus in dairy farming. Overall, the development and implementation of technological systems in dairy farming is strongly influenced by the requirements of society and the legislator.
