Seeding Technology
Abstract:
Interesting new and further developments of seed drills and precision planters were presented at Agritechnica 2023, but did not receive an innovation award. The manufacturers presented new solutions for machines suitable for strip-till and direct seeding, for the simultaneous variable application of several seeds and/or fertilizers and/or crop protection products, as well as for further improving precision. The development teams are working on technically very demanding topics such as precision planting of grain or automatic depth control for grain seeding, as well as on detailed improvements in order to make the setting and operation of the machines simpler and more user-friendly. Research projects deal with a wide range of topics, ranging from the study of the energy requirement when seeding maize to smartphone applications for the configuration, remote control and monitoring of an automated seeding combination.
