Tractor Engines and Transmission
Abstract:
Emission stage V is in power for first engines. Relation to maximum power can tighten requirements (56kW step). Experimental long-term rape seed oil fuel yielded good results.
The total transmission system of SAME Deutz-Fahr family 5G (20 variants) is described as an example of outstanding diversity. The new CVT of New Holland T5 family (photo) is identical in structure with the families T6 and short T7. An electric PTO power split CVT (120kW) is proposed as an intermediate unit between tractor and implement (prototype). General fundamentals of electric power split CVTs were presented in a Ph. D. dissertation.
Symbols for transmission elements as presented 50 years ago by Renius and always used since 30 years in this yearbook article are summarized.
