Cultivation Technology
Tillage
Abstract:
Agriculture remains present in the public and political discussion. Within the framework of the farm to fork and biodiversity strategies of the European Union, the use of pesticides should be reduced, the use of fertilizers should be more efficient and the release of CO2 bound in the soil should be avoided [1]. A central role is played by tillage. Erosion reduction, mechanical weed control and intercrop management are development goals for tillage technology. In addition to exact, ultra-flat tillage, new machine concepts based on the combination of processes and the electrification of traction elements represent trends. Highly automated and partly autonomous machines and machine systems for agricultural applications are increasingly gaining attention. Currently, the focus is on mechanical weed control, although the range of applications is continuously expanding to other areas.
