Technical innovations to reduce the use of chemical pesticides in cropping systems
Abstract:
Technical innovations for the reduction of chemical pesticides have led to a significantly increased savings potential in this field in recent years due to innovative developments and the increased availability of sensor technology and camera-guided systems. The technical innovations that are currently available in practice, such as pulse width modulation, direct feed, tramline shut-off, or the combination of mechanical and chemical weed control, will be described here. In addition, an outlook on current developments with focus on autonomous technology and possible spot or single plant treatment in optimized plant cultivation systems of the future will be given.
