Root Crop Engineering Potato Technology

Abstract:
The global production of potatoes is characterized by an increase of mechanization. The process from planting to harvesting and storage is done at different levels of mechanization. Improvements in (high) developed countries are frequently related to electronic aspects (operation, data-management, etc.). Furthermore there are also numerous mechanical improvements in the whole production-process from cultivation to post-harvest processing (tillage equipment, drive systems, crop protection, etc.), which will be described with selected examples.
