Root Crop Engineering Potato Technology

Abstract:

Due to the Corona pandemic, almost all international trade fairs were cancelled. The manufacturers therefore held back on presenting striking innovations. Nevertheless, numerous technical improvements were made in all areas of potato technology from planting to storage. The mechanical and electro-chemical haulm regulation for harvest preparation attracted attention. Electronics and smart networking continue to gain in importance. It is expected that autonomous machine concepts will increasingly find their way into practice. The article provides a systematic classification. In addition, it reports on examples of how modularised harvesting machines can be used across different crops.
