Grain Harvesting
Grain Preservation
Abstract:
Farm-fresh grain cannot be stored without preserving measures in most cases. Grain preservation by water removal is the most frequently used process for this purpose. Besides low process costs the energy efficiency attains growing importance. In ventilation drying, the energy consumption can be reduced by applying optimized air inlet facilities and computer-aided measuring and control systems. In mixed-flow grain drying, the drying process and the dryer apparatus are subject of actual research. Due to increasing prices at the grain market, the farmers are forced to think about court-intrinsic storage again. Simplified storage layouts can be realized at low costs.
