General Development Electrical high-power interface between tractors and machinery

Abstract:

Until now, tractors have mainly transmitted power mechanically and hydraulically to implements. However, agricultural implements powered by electrically transmitted energy offer the potential for a higher degree of automation, greater precision, more efficient power transmission and better controllability. Several agricultural technology companies have therefore been working together for about a decade on a high-power electrical interface to transfer electrical power of up to 150 kW between tractors and implements using existing ISOBUS communications. The work resulted in a standardization procedure at ISO in March 2018.
